Rooted in love, guided by ethics, and driven by our deep passion for the Golden Retriever breed — this is the story of Golden Meadow Retrievers.
It started with one dog named Goldie. In 2005, the Anderson family brought home their first Golden Retriever and were instantly captivated by the breed's unmatched warmth, intelligence, and devotion. Goldie became the centrepiece of family life — gentle with the kids, a loyal companion on every hike, and endlessly patient with everyone she met.
After Goldie's first litter in 2008, something became crystal clear: there was a better way to raise Golden Retriever puppies. A way that prioritised health testing, early socialisation, and pairing each puppy with a family that would give them the life they deserved. Golden Meadow Retrievers was born from that conviction.
Seventeen years later, we've placed over 200 puppies in loving homes across the Pacific Northwest. Our philosophy hasn't changed a bit: every puppy deserves the best possible start, and every family deserves a dog they can trust completely.
Three core principles guide every decision we make — from which dogs we breed to which families we choose.
Every breeding dog undergoes comprehensive health testing before producing a litter. OFA hip and elbow certifications, CAER eye exams, OFA cardiac testing, and full DNA panels — we leave nothing to chance. A healthy puppy is the foundation of everything.
Health without temperament is incomplete. We select breeding pairs not just for health scores, but for the kind, gentle, intelligent personalities that make Golden Retrievers the world's most beloved family dog. We temperament test every puppy before matching them to families.
Our puppies grow up in our living room, not in a kennel. They experience children, adults, other pets, household sounds, and daily life from the very first day. This early socialisation creates confident, adaptable, emotionally stable dogs.
Golden Meadow is a true family affair — and our dogs are very much part of the family too.
Our puppies are raised in spaces designed to encourage healthy development, enrichment, and love.
We hold ourselves to the highest standards in ethical breeding, health, and education.
Recognized for our commitment to health testing, titles, and the future of the breed.
All breeding dogs have current OFA evaluations for hips, elbows, eyes, and heart.
Proud members of the Golden Retriever Club of America and our local chapter.
